6. James Spader As Ultron In Avengers: Age Of Ultron
The MCU has been host to a number of fantastic villains, but none are more charmingly evil than Ultron in the second Avengers film. James Spader’s motion capture and vocal performance as the metal god make this character memorable, especially in what many consider to be the weakest film in the Avengers saga. Ultron’s constantly-changing form serves as the film’s ticking clock that our heroes are constantly racing against. Add in the constant religious metaphors and other witticisms, and you have a recipe for the MCU’s most underrated villain thus far.

The Brat Pack is getting back together — sort of: Anthony Michael Hall has landed a role on James Spader’s NBC drama The Blacklist, ETOnline.com reports. Hall will appear in multiple Season 7 episodes as Donald Ressler’s (Diego Klattenhoff) estranged brother, Robby, who leads his sibling to secrets long thought buried away. Whilst the depiction of sex and violence in films has often been the main focal point for the British Board of Film Classification’s decision making, never have the two been combined more provocatively in mainstream cinema as in the film Crash. This film is about a group of people who seek sexual gratification through car crashes. The film’s controversial subject matter led to a scathing review by critic Alexander Walker in the Evening Standard when he had seen it prior to its UK release at the Cannes film festival in 1996. This would start a ball rolling which despite its eventual uncut 18 certificate a year later would culminate in the banning of the film by Westminster and four other local councils. This was after a nationwide campaign against the film was engineered by the Daily Mail newspaper and its often hysterical film critic Christopher Tookey. Continue reading here
